This is different

An industry secret, now a plug-in.

Dan Korneff managed to buy a WOW Thing fifteen years ago and it became a staple of his guitar processing. However, he wanted to use it on background vocals and reverbs, and the original boxes are hard to come by. So he recreated it and now it's available as a plug-in.Think of WOW Thing as an acoustic hug: anytime you want a sound to stretch beyond the confines of the normal stereo field, the WOW Thing is the thing. If you’re looking for freaky Lo-Fi mystery, the WOW Thing is your cheap plastic friend, now in convenient plug-in form.

Add space, bass and chaos

Simple controls make it easy to add spaciousness to your stereo tracks: Just turn up the WOW knob.Any stereo source fed through the WOW Thing moves out beyond the speakers. At extreme settings, the WOW Thing adds so much psychoacoustic movement and confusion that it can actually make you feel motion sick! It's that extreme an effect.TrueBass is a low-frequency enhancement that adds depth and rumble to your tracks. Add just a touch to thicken a sound, or crank it up for unique low-end effects.

Beyond the Original

It wouldn’t be a Korneff Audio plug-in if there weren’t extra things to tweak.Click on the nameplate to “lift off” the cover and access options that weren’t on the original unit.Choose from two different WOW effects. Select TYPE 1 for the sonics of the original tabletop unit, or TYPE 2 for the enhancement algorithms of the obscure SRS Megawide rackmount unit. The Korneff Audio WOW Thing also has selectable frequencies for the TrueBass processor. Use this to tailor the low-end response to suit your material and mix. This feature alone makes the Korneff Audio WOW Thing much more versatile.

This is a no brainer. The biggest drawback is the need for some self restraint to stop me using it an every guitar every time.

This thing is a strange thing. It makes it sound better but it's hard to describe what it does. Well deserved name though: Wow!

Since I purchased this it's been permanently sitting on my guitar chain. It gives another life to guitars that I haven't been able to achieve through the use of other plugins.

Been experimenting with it on synths and it's pretty sweet too.

I went deep on the analog modeling with SITRAL, and you can feel it. Crank the input, lean into the EQ, slam the output. It doesn’t fall apart or get ugly. Just like the real thing.”

Korneff Audio’s SITRAL W295 EQs are truly awesome. I’ve been incorporating them into my workflow and I love what they do to guitars and vocals in particular. They have tons of great midrange character without sounding harsh. I also love the impeccably detailed modeling of every step of the circuit and the option to tweak every variable down to the transformers. The W295 EQ is the type of plugin that’s hard to make sound bad. Korneff Audio knocked it out of the park!

This plug-in made me want to overuse it as soon as I started playing with it, in a good way. It sounds so good and reminds me of the strange sounding hifi electronics we used to hotrod to use in the studio. Loads of fun, and really is its own thing.

I love this thing. I’m already using your SITRAL all over the place and replacing various other EQ’s. Super straightforward to use and, like all of your plugins, the interface is a pleasure to tweak.

Been reaching for the new Korneff SITRAL EQ a lot — it’s officially my go-to for electric guitars. It already sounded great, but they really took it to another level with the tilt and transformers/ saturation features. Effortless tone, every time.

Finally!! Been using the beta in secret all this year. Just an awesome sound unlike anything else I have. Love the midrange and the top is so pleasing.
I don’t think it possible to be disappointed with this SITRAL eq.
